How to Meditate

1. Start small

Start meditating for two-three minutes and then gradually build up from there. Start by setting a timer for two minutes and simply sit cross legged and close your eyes, focusing on your breathing while letting thoughts pass by.

2. First thing

Do it first thing in the morning when your mind is fresh and clear of any distractions.

3. Focus on your breathing

Be aware of your breathe and occasionally take a deep breathe if you feel anxious,  it will definitely help you calm down.

4. Expect to think

Our minds love to think and overthink and nothing is going to stop it. Thoughts are going to constantly pop up, all you have to do is stay with it for a few seconds and gently let it pass.

5. Choose your space

Choose a quiet, silent space in your house where sunlight floods the room.

6. Guided meditations and Meditation apps

Youtube offers a ton of guided meditations that really helps you navigate your meditation journey in a much simpler way. One of my favourites are the meditation guides offered by Sadhguru on YouTube. There are many apps that also help you meditate on a more regular basis. Headspace is one that I use and stand by.
