Body Positivity
During the Covid 19 pandemic, most of us have been cooped up inside our houses all alone, with no one to really talk to. We've had our fair share of low days, days where we felt alone and sad and days that were filled with happiness and excitement. We've taken up several new hobbies and endeavours that may or may not have been successful! But one thing you might have struggled with is your mental health. Mental Health is a very serious topic. Besides keeping our physical bodies healthy, it is vital to keep our mental health healthy too.
Looking at pictures of models and influencers on Instagram and other social media platforms might make you feel bad about yourself. You may ask yourself 'why don't I look like that', but one think you must always remember is that these photos are often edited to look a certain way. Celebrities photoshop their bodies to look 'fitter' or 'thinner' than they actually are. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, all of us want our feed to look pleasing at all times, but don't you ever feel bad for looking the way you do.
A lot of people go into depression because they don't look according to the way someone else thinks they should look, or because they don't tick all the boxes of socially accepted body figures. Remember that nothing is more important than the way you feel, don't worry too much about how others think of you. If you feel confident, then you radiate confidence. If you feel powerful, then you radiate power. if you don't like something about yourself, then change, don't ever put too much pressure on yourself. If you don't like the way you look, then do something about it but don't be harsh on yourself. Change takes time, it is gradual but it will come if you are consistent.
STOP HATING YOURSELF FOR WHAT YOU AREN'T AND START LOVING YOURSELF FOR EVERYTHING YOU ARE.
Remember that you are so much than the way you look. You are a beautiful soul with an amazing personality and that's what matters.
All your imperfections are normal. Cellulite, folds of skin, acne, etc are all normal, everyone has them, yes, even celebrities. The way you pose for photos and the way the light hits your skin are both factors that affect whether the camera captures these imperfections or not. LOVING YOUR BODY IS THE GREATEST REVOLUTION.
REMEMBER THAT THE PROBLEM ISN'T THE WAY YOUR BODY LOOKS, BUT THE WAY YOU THINK OF IT, AND WHAT YOU THINK OF YOURSELF.
